2008 Training Schedule

Training dates have been released for Marshals, Standard Bearers, Security, and Spectator Hosts. Celebrity and Sponsor Host training date is yet to be determined and will be posted as soon as it is known. For other positions, ask your coodinator about how training will be conducted.

Note: Training is mandatory for all volunteers. You only have to attend ONE training session.

Training Location: Pinehurst

Pinehurst training sessions will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 10am at the Pinehurst resort.

Training Location: Raleigh

All Raleigh volunteers are training at the NC Highway Patrol Troop C Headquarters located at 1831 Blue Ridge Rd., approximately 0.1 miles North of Wade Avenue at District Dr. It is easily accessible from the I-440 Beltline and I-40. See the directions below to the NCHP Troop C Headquarters, or get directions via

• From Zebulon, Knightdale, Wendell area.  Get on US64 West toward Raleigh.  You will take I-440 toward Wake Forest (Outer Beltline). Take exit 4B towards RDU International Airport (I-40 West) and Durham.  It is a continuous exit lane to the Blue Ridge Road exit.  You will go up the exit ramp to Blue Ridge Road.  At the top of the ramp, there is a stoplight.  Turn right at the light onto Blue Ridge Road.  NCSHP is .1 mile down the road.
  
  
• From the Clayton, Smithfield, area. • From the Chapel Hill, Durham, Greensboro area.  Get on I-40 East toward Raleigh.  There is a point past exit 287 where the highway splits.  I-40 forks left and I-440 forks right.  Take the right fork to I-440 toward the NC State Fairground then take the Blue Ridge Road exit (also the NC State Fairground exit).  At the light, turn left, and continue over the overpass.  NCSHP is .1 mile down the road.
