Important announcment: Due to the schedule of our successful Carolina Hurricanes, the Jimmy V celebrity Junior Golf Classic has been rescheduled to Monday, July 24 at 8:30 am. The Hurricanes are presenting sponsors and huge participants in the Junior and we congratulate them on their playoff run. A formal update will be up soon on the Junior web site. Time to let everyone in on a little secret. For the past two issues, we have placed a phrase in the middle of a newsletter article, and the first person who sees it and responds gets a prize. So far, only one person has responded, and he responded both times. William Routh of Greensboro has won a Jimmy V pullover shirt, sleeve of golf balls, and a hat. We want you to really read this blog and the newsletter, and have some fun doing both. We'll continue to play this little game.. how about you?

As good a job as we (and the V Foundation) have done raising money for cancer research, we can't do it alone. This week's Sports Illustrated has a great article on the passion that Lance Armstrong has for stomping out this awful disease. You can read it online at the SI Web site.
His foundation has rasied $146M so far, and he is aiming for $1 billion. How's that for a number! It feels good to have someone like Lance on our side.

Hi.. we sure had a good time at the Volunteer kickoff. Pictures are posted in the News section on the right. More playoff hockey means more Cool Bars and more chances to see the Junior's raffle prize, the Harley. That means Cary on Wednesday and Raleigh on Saturday.
