Michael Dean Chadwick, CEO of 1st American, one of the Triangle’s leading builders, developers and brokers of land, has teamed with The V Foundation for Cancer Research in an effort to raise money for the fight against cancer. Michael Dean’s vision, inspired by years of personal charity work and community service, was to design and build a Charity Home to benefit the fight against cancer. Michael’s vision has now become a reality with the groundbreaking of the 1st American/V Foundation Charity Home.
The home is being built with the help of volunteer contractors, designers, decorators, and suppliers from across the Triangle and will feature the latest in technology and design in the home building industry. 1st American expects to have the home completed in August 2006, creating a masterpiece that will be a symbol of hope in the battle against cancer.
Michael Dean Chadwick chose to work with The V Foundation because of its commitment and tremendous contributions towards cancer research.
“Cancer has become something that is all around us. We all have friends, co-workers, or family members who have been afflicted by this horrible disease,” stated Michael Dean Chadwick. “To have the opportunity to work with The V Foundation is an honor, and our hope is that this home can move us one step closer to finding a cure for cancer.”
Chadwick’s goal is to have each room in the home designed and decorated by some of the area’s top professionals. Already, several industry leaders have agreed to join1st American in their efforts by donating materials and supplies. Following completion, the home will be sold and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Chadwick hopes to raise upwards of $100,000 for the foundation through the Charity Home.
The home will be at 1st American’s coveted Bedford community in Raleigh, North Carolina. Located just off I-540, Bedford offers a great location along with spacious custom-built homes. The charity home will be based on 1st American’s “Bryson” model, a five-bedroom, 4-1/2 bath home.The model boasts a covered rocking chair front porch and over 4,600 sq. ft. of living space. Possessing elegance and charm, the “Bryson” also features a gourmet kitchen with island, a second floor recreation room and laundry room, as well as a spacious walk-up attic.
